RISKS AND INJURIES:
Please note that while partaking in any of our tours the following risks and dangers include but are not limited to:
TRANSPORT: We use a wide range of transport means such as car, bus, aircraft, boat, canoe, horse, bullock and cart or any other as required. Please note that on some of our tours, especially in remote locations the roads, bridges, rivers and trails can be in poor condition and can face obstacles such as fallen trees, flooding, bogging down of vehicles and dust among others.
ACTIVITIES: Include trekking, rafting, fishing, camping, swimming, climbing and boating risks. Due to the fact that you often will be in a completely natural surrounding the following risks include but are not limited to snake bites, insect/ spider bites, allergic reactions, injuries from falls, falling objects, swimming and dangerous wildlife. Please be aware many of the tour locations contain pumas, jaguars, venomous snakes, spiders, insects, peccaries and more.
Travelling in a range of environments such as mountains, forests, savannahs, and often rivers, can vary in climate and altitude.
Climatic conditions can change rapidly, without warning which can result in extreme events such as flash flooding, cold temperatures, rainstorms, heat waves and more.
Injuries, medical illness, accidents can all occur in remote locations with little to no medical facilities or options for rapid evacuations.
LIABILITY:
Earth Trails Eco-Adventures and Wilderness Tours does not assume liability or responsibility for the services of medical doctors, sickness, injuries, allergies, loss of property due to theft, injury or damage from theft, fire, transport incidents among others.
All customers of Earth Trails Eco-Adventures and Wilderness Tours must be of good health standard and any limitations or physical impairments, including allergies and special food requirements, must be made aware prior to the commencement of any tour or activity.
All participants in any tour or activity of Earth Trails Eco-Adventures and Wilderness Tours do so at their own risk and responsibility. It's vitally important that prior to the commencement of any tour or activity all participants read and sign the terms and conditions and enter knowing the types of risks involved.
FITNESS LEVEL AND HEALTH : All customers of Earth Trails Eco-Adventures and Wilderness Tours must be of a good health standard, and it is your responsibility to ensure that you are in good health and have the physical fitness required to participate in a chosen tour and any limitations or physical impairments, including allergies, and special food requirements, must be made aware prior to the commencement of any tour or activity. If you have a pre-existing medical condition, it is advisable to consult a health care professional prior to booking a tour.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND REQUIREMENTS : It is upon the customer’s interest to ensure that they possess the necessary travel documents, such as passports, visas, and any other required identification, for the countries visited during the tour. Earth Trails Eco-Adventures and Wilderness Tours will not be liable for any complications arising from inadequate or incorrect travel documentation.
INSUARANCE : The whole responsibility lies with the guest to ensure they have the correct travel and medical insurance, to cover themselves for trip cancellation, medical emergencies, baggage loss and other unforeseen events. Earth Trails Eco-Adventures and Wilderness Tours is not responsible for any financial losses incurred due to cancellations, disruptions, or other issues.
CUSTOMER CONDUCT : During the tour, participants are expected to act in a safe and appropriate manner while using the facilities and services and also adhere to the general instructions, guidelines and specific rules of the indigenous people’s territory provided by the tour guide and our team. Disruptive, disrespectful, discrimination, or unsafe and irresponsible behavior that threatens the safety, comfort and enjoyment of other customers may result in removal from the tour, without refund.
GENERAL: In any tour with Earth Trails Eco-Adventures and Wilderness Tours it’s extremely important to take note and obey the following rules and laws:
LITTERING: Absolutely no littering.
DRUGS: No drugs or controlled substances are to be taken on tours or activities with Earth Trails Eco-Adventures and Wilderness Tours. If prescription medication is required, please make staff aware before the commencement of any tour or activity.
WILDLIFE: While we give every opportunity for the participants to see wildlife in their natural environments, we never guarantee sightings due to the season and time of the day. Furthermore, any removal of animals, plant matter or articles from a protected area or any other area is prohibited.
GOVERNING LAW : This disclaimer policy and any disputes arising from it shall be governed by the Co-Operative Republic of Guyana, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
EQUIPMENT: Participants are responsible for any equipment borrowed or used from Earth Trails Eco-Adventures and Wilderness Tours, any damages to the equipment will incur an additional cost to the customer. Smoking within tents and camps is strictly prohibited.
CANCELLATION OF TOUR/ CHANGE OF ITINERARY DUE TO REASONS BEYOND OUR CONTROL:
Extreme weather and transportation delays are the main reasons why a tour maybe cancelled, or the itinerary changed, please note that these changes are done for the safety and benefit of the customers. When the situation is out of the control of Earth Trails Eco-Adventures and Wilderness Tours, such as for the reasons listed above, and the tour has to be cancelled, Earth Trails Eco-Adventures and Wilderness Tours will give a full refund or offer the tour at a later date. Please note if we are forced to make changes to the itinerary due to adverse weather conditions or problems out of our control and they incur extra costs (such as accommodation, food) then the customer will be charged the additional costs.
N.B:
Weather conditions can also cause flights going to or coming from remote locations to be re-routed to different airstrips, which may impact your travel/flight costs, so it's advised to be prepared for potential fluctuations.
PAYMENT
To confirm your Tour reservation a 50 percent deposit must be paid. The remaining balance is to be paid no later than One month before the commencement date of the tour.
